Newsletter Update
Due to Covid-19, Greek life on campus has slowed down drastically. To reflect the decrease in activity, the Delta Rho Raider will temporarily
be done on a bimonthly basis to make sure there is still a decent amount of content per issue. To offset the lower number of issues, we will
also have an end-of-semester edition with a highlight from some of our best events of the semester as well as photos from throughout the semester.
Spring Recruitment
With Covid-19 still affecting Greek life as a whole, recruitment has unsurprisingly been difficult at this time. However, thanks for the dutiful
efforts of our Head of Recruitment, Brandon Dutcher and our Head of Associate Member Education, Jay Reese, we still managed to have a very
productive semester. We have eight new associate members, Asa Nam, Brandon Pellitier, Benjamin Stone, Kweisi Borland, Nico Pegorer, Ralph Wasow,
and Ved Janaki coming near the end of the associate member education process. We look forward to welcoming them into our brotherhood soon, and
we continue to expect great things of all new brothers.
Consolidation Day
Out of an abundance of caution in relation to Covid-19, we regret to say a Consolidation Day celebration alongside our alumni will not be
possible this year. Consolidation Day is a long-cherished tradition and we regret that we will not be able to spend that valuable time with
our alums, but needless to say we have high hopes that with the Covid-19 vaccine reaching more and more people each day, conditions will be
suitable for an excellent Consolidation Day celebration next Spring. In the meantime, we encourage any alumni that would like to visit the
house or attend Consolidation Day next year to receive the Covid vaccine whenever possible.
Philanthropies
Unfortunately, we are unable to host any major philanthropies this semester in relation to restrictions placed by the University of Georgia
Interfraternity Council. However, that is not to say our fraternity hasn’t found ways to contribute to philanthropic endeavors in the community!
We remain partnered with UGA Miracle and are proud to announce we were one of the top donor in a recent drive. Out of 2,148 teams we placed 66th
in donations, raising a total of $6,507 towards Miracle! We are proud to seek ways to assist those in need in our community, and if you would
like to join us in those endeavors feel free to contact Chase, our head of philanthropy, from the information page on this website to contribute
to our budget for our next philanthropy event or to donate through the fraternity directly to UGA Miracle! We greatly appreciate all the support
given from our alumni thus far.
Events
Unfortunately, our capacity to host events has also been rather limited in relation to Covid-19. However, January still showed great
opportunity with an amazing ski themed party that was an absolute blast for the brothers. We still continue to hold socials, date nights,
and other gatherings whenever possible, with an upcoming Formal in New Orleans, though the fraternity continues to take great precautions
during the pandemic.
How You Can Help
With home renovations underway and the fall semester approaching fast, every little bit helps! Please consider contributing to one of our funds at the bottom of our page or contact
an executive member to ask how you can contribute to our chapter. Below are some of our focus points over the coming months.
- Philanthropy – Postponed, Date TBD
- Home Renovation – Ongoing
To all of our alumni donors and contributors, we sincerely thank you for your support.
