Fall 2020 for Phi Kappa Theta

Following an abruptly ended Spring semester and extended summer, the brothers of Phi Kappa Theta are excited to be back on campus, both for our academic goals as well as the advancement of the brotherhood. In this spirit, our rush chairs, brothers Josh Munsey, JR Walker, and Brandon Dutcher worked tirelessly over the summer to contact prospective new members and come up with rush events for these young men to participate in responsibly for the Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to their hard work, we now have eighteen new associate members being led through the associate member education process by our VP of AME, Cole Morgan and two AME chairs Jay Reese and Logan Brooks. Our eighteen associate members are currently learning the essentials of Greek life and Phi Kappa Theta, including the Greek alphabet, basic history of Greek life, the origins of Phi Kap, as well as some essential life skills such as the fundamentals of tying a tie and proper communication. Naturally, as we adapt to the current Covid situation, our social chairs have continued to seek ways for the brothers to have plenty of opportunities to socialize responsibly without risking public health. In that light, we have several socials scheduled with sororities such as AOII, SK, SDT, and Phi Mu as well as a smaller social between our associate members and that of AOII. Additionally, we have several date nights set throughout the semester. Lastly, our Fall philanthropy event for the Children's Miracle Network is still being held this semester, although we are waiting to decide an exact date to best avoid any complications from Covid and to give everyone who would like to participate the opportunity to do so safely and responsibly. If you have any cornhole boards you can donate for our philanthropy tournament, please feel free to contact any of our exec members from our website with details, otherwise any other donations are also welcome as we continue to restore and improve our home at 677 S Milledge Ave.

How You Can Help
